Your grow medium, wether soil or hydro should be sterilized. The ideal Ph of your grow media and nutrients should be between 5.7 and 6.4.

If using soil, make sure it is well aerated by adding perlite or vermiculite. The ph of the soil should be 6.5.

You want your grow room humidity at 40% to 65% during vegetative stage, 40% to 60% during flowering.

Excess humidity creates adverse conditions that allow mold and other harmful organisms to flourish.

Your light cycle wants to be 18-24 hours of daylight during vegetative growth. To trigger flowering you need 12 hours on, 12 hours off.

A 400 watt lamp provides adequate light for 10 square feet of space. The use of light movers can extend these coverage areas.

The temperature in the daytime period needs to be between 70 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit.

The temperature in the nighttime period needs to be between 64 and 71 degrees Fahrenheit. If using co2, up the above temperature by 4%.

You want the water/ nutrient solution to be 67 degrees Fahrenheit.

Dont place pots/tubs directly on the floor. Put a rug under them.

The top of the plants should receive 3000 lumens of light. Use a lumens meter.

Inadequate lighting will result in unequal growth patterns, and loss of yield.

For safety reasons if buying a timer, get a good one. Dont buy a 2.99 jobby from the pound shop and plug 4 grow lamps into it.

The timer will either fail and ruin your project or worse still, burn your house down.

Obviously take care when using electricty and water in the same room.

To get the most from your lamps, use mylar or white reflective glossy plastic on all surfaces.

Dont be pikey and use baking foil, mirrors, and white paint unless you have to.

They do not reflect light adequately. You need the grow lamps as close to the top of the plants as you can.

The distance varies depending on bulb etc. The temperature around the leaf must not exceed 84 degrees Fahrenheit.

You must have atleast one medium size oscillating fan for any size grow space, no matter how small.

It helps keep the temperature down!
